"I am not ashamed to own that I believe that the whole universe, heaven and earth, air and seas, and the divine constitution and history of the holy Scriptures, be full of images of divine things, as full as a language is of words." - Jonathan Edwards

Stuff Is About Jesus
Stuff Is About Jesus is a blog dedicated to seeing our world through the lens of the Living Word. Nothing in this life is neutral. Nothing is arbitrary. The world is created as if the Father was painting pictures, composing songs, writing poems - all in view of the glory and majesty of his Son. These paintings, songs, and poems make up the created world; they are the building blocks of this universe. And nothing escapes this reality. Nothing is marginalized, because Jesus was marginalized, and he is at the center. There are no detached caveats or irrelevant tangents. The earth is Yahweh's, and the fullness thereof. "Creation is as full of images of divine things as a language is full of words." "All things with which we deal, preach to us." There is no corner of the universe where their voice is not heard. "Let the world become our school if we desire rightly to know God."

Sounds good, count me in. But was Jesus marginalized?
ReplyDeleteIn the sense that he was the stone that the builders rejected which became the cornerstone. That's kind of what I am getting at. The piece that is excluded is the centerpiece for the temple. Marginalized people are those who don't fit with man's practical, ambitious, worldly wisdom. They are not the sort of people you go to if you are pragmatic about succeeding. I see a similarity between that and the Wisdom of Christ which turns the wisdom of the world upside down.
